Below you will find brief descriptions of all the classes that we offer here at PDS. If you are not quite ready to enroll into one of our programs, registering for individual classes is perfect for you! 

Ballet 

Ballet is a classical dance form characterized by precise movements, graceful gestures, and a focus on technique and expression. Its origins trace back to the Italian Renaissance courts and have evolved into a highly structured art form with defined positions, steps, and terminology.

Lyrical

Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz techniques, characterized by expressive movements that interpret the lyrics and emotions of a song. It emphasizes fluidity, grace, and storytelling, often incorporating elements of contemporary dance. Lyrical choreography aims to evoke powerful emotions and convey narratives through movement.

Conditioning 

Our conditioning class is designed to improve your overall fitness and strength through targeted exercises. This high-intensity class focuses on building endurance, enhancing flexibility, and toning muscles. It's the perfect complement to any dance training, helping you perform at your best.

Tap

Tap dance, originating in the United States in the early 19th century at the crossroads of African and Irish American dance forms, is a rhythmic style where dancers create intricate rhythms using metal-tipped shoes, emphasizing syncopation and improvisation.

HipHop

Hip hop dance is a vibrant and energetic style characterized by its urban influence, dynamic movements, and emphasis on rhythm and groove. Originating from street culture, it incorporates elements of breaking, locking, and popping, often accompanied by hip hop music.

Turns & Leaps

Our Turns & Leaps class focuses on mastering the techniques behind flawless turns and powerful leaps. This class is perfect for dancers looking to enhance their agility, balance, and precision. Through targeted drills and exercises, dancers will build the strength and coordination needed to execute complex movements with confidence and grace.

Jazz

Jazz dance is a dynamic and expressive style blending syncopated rhythms, fluid movements, and improvisation. It originated from African-American culture, combining elements of ballet, modern dance, and traditional African dances, emphasizing versatility and conveying emotion through movement.

Acro

Acro, short for acrobatics, is a style of dance that combines classical dance techniques with acrobatic elements. It involves fluid movements, balance, strength, and flexibility, often incorporating flips, aerials, and tumbling.
